Hi,

I have a 3 year old SMEG cooker, (forgot to check model no. this morning Doh!). It's free standing Gas hob, main oven, top oven with grill.
Anyway, main oven is not heating up, but fan is spinning. Also thermostat light comes on, but does not go off as not reaching temp.

I am thinking that it could be element. The element is round and goes round the fan. It seems to be secured from the back with nuts and with odd clips on the inside. (difficult to see) Has anyone removed such an element and have you any tips?

Regards

For the record, element came out easy, two nuts at back and one screw in oven. Good news, element is faulty, £30 for new one so could be worse!

It could be the t/stat. I would test element before getting a new one.
