Hi,
I just installed a Smeg p775 wide hob and only the dual burner hobs light up, the 3 single burners dont. I am wondering if its a wiring fault. The diagram at the base gives 3 otpions normal 240v, 340v and 240 3 phase. i am using normal 240v

The connection diagram looks like the following

1 2 3 4 Earth
o---o o---o
L1 N1 (N1 is below 4)

I have the wiring going into 1, 4 and earth. The 3 to 4 neutral has a piece of metal under it acting as a bridge but 1 and 2 dont, yet the diagram would seem to suggest it should have. Could this be the reason i only have 2 burners working - do i need to find someway to bridge 1 and 2?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

That's your problem. Link the L1 and L2 and it should work.

Unplug your appliance before working on it.

cheers for the reply, will give it a shot after christmas cooking - just in case - what do you suggest i link it with?

Use a piece of the cable used to wire it in.
