I think I have found the problem with my dishwasher - when the motor engages when I turn it on, the impellor fan immediately attached to it does not spin.

I have taken the impellor off the front and the thread on the shaft of the motor looks ok, so I presume the thread in the impellor has sheared off. Does the impellor normally screw on to the motor, or do they come together as a unit that should not come apart unless broken? I.e. if I buy a spare impellor unit, will I be able to just thread it on, or do I need to buy a motor/impellor unit together?

One other question - all the hose connections have sprung clips except the one from the impellor to the heating element which has different broad metal collars that look like they are designed to go on and not come off - can they be re-used, or would I break them pulling them off and need to replace them? I guess any collar & screw from the plumber supply shop would do the job...

Thanks for any help, I think I am nearly there in getting it fixed!

new drain pump needed comes complete ,as for the clips use jubilee clips

Thanks, you are sure? Sorry, just not what I wanted to hear! Nearly £100 difference for impellor vs motor with impellor... If would definitely need new motor as well, I could try covering motor shaft with super-glue and seeing if that would work??!!

Yes, I found them on eSpares as below:

Here is the circulation motor with impellor attached.

Here is the impellor chamber unit separately.

I am interested to hear what you think. Part if me is tempted to buy the impellor unit and see, if it doesn't attach I could send it back within 14 days for a refund / exchange it for the whole unit.

What do you think? Thanks for your help.

Ben

thats the bit you want the impellor .if you glue it ,it will just fall off that spins round about 200 times a min. buy it and it should screw on otherwise you can send it back .
