Smell in my Living room like Sewage

Hi,
Since we have lived in our house, nearly 3 years, we get a smell only in the living room which smells like sewage. Its not terrible but enough to want to spray air freashner. It comes & goes throughout the day & then will vanish for months.
Today I poured some drain unblocker down my drain in the garden & a few hours later it smelt like bleach in my living room. I am hopeless at DIY & just dont know what to do now. I presume it will be the drains but dont know what to do next!

Not a diy job and I would ask a trusted builder to have a look rather than a drainage company first.

if its under the house you'll need a camera to locate the damage.
and i prefer a drain specilist to a builder.

Do you know a rough estimate of how much this will cost??

It sounds scarily expensive & I'm just wondering how many of my children I'll have to sell!! Only joking!
