Smelly Rad

Hi all,

I've got a bit of an issue with my rad in the corridor. Theres a weird smell coming from it, best way i can describe it is its a metallic/oily smell. I was advised by my father in law to take the rad off and wash the insides which I have done, when i done this a black oily gunk came out. The smell has slightly reduced but is still there, my wife is pregnant and the smell is making her constantly puke. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

How would the smell get out from "inside" the radiator without leaking, maybe you have a small leak on the valves which dries before showing, or does your father in law smell or leak, pregnant women puke regardless
