smoothing a cut tile

porcelian or ceramic not sure yet, just had a sample delivered of polished black porcelian and it did not look very good

With natural stone you can round off the edges with a grinder using different grades of bit on the pads. You can do similar if the porcelain is vitrified as the could tends to be similar all the way through the tile.

With ceramic or porcelain there won't be much you can do,there shouldn't be many cuts if any visible anyway.Corners should go into the corner then be siliconed over, edges are normally trimed with the cut edge under the trim.

Where was it that you feel the edge of the tile would be exposed and need rounding/smoothing off?

there is going to be a step/ledge and i was wanting to round off the edge of the tile so its shamfered at the front

All you can really do is face the cut edge in so it becomes a grout line and the finished edge out, won't you be triming the edge of the step/ledge?

wasnt going to trim it but that might be best option ill lay it dry first to see how it looks ..cheers
