hi has anyone had any experience with polycell smoothover or covertex? I have an old platerboarded roof around 40 years old and the joins are terrible. Do you think this product will work or will it just make a bad job worse? I would really rather take this route as the only other option is a plasterer and that is getting into pricey territory.

Any views on this would be appreciated

Cheers

I use the smoothover whenever i have to even up a wall thats been stripped. its good stuff, easy and quick to apply and rub back down again. If the joins are knackered on your ceilig i would be inclined to rake them out, and re tape and join the worse ones with gyproc joint filler. very easy to use and sand down to a good finish, and use caulking for any minor cracks
