He seemed to be the first. And then one year I noticed that nobody was drinking beer anymore. I didn't know at first whether it was voluntary or a ban.

I'm only 40 minutes from Sheffield was a regular at crucible late 70s early 80s.
Was at the match where Cliff Thorburn and Terry Griffiths finished at nearly 4 in morning.
No I didn't go into work!
