Along the front of the house, there are 3 x 2 concrete slabs. The lawn is sloping down towards the front of the house.

When ever we have heavy continuous rain, it pools across the front of the house.

I intend to lay storm drain channels across the front of the concrete slabs.

The channel would be approx. 5 metres in length and be approx. 1 metre from house wall in front of the 3 x 2 slabs

Thought of putting 2 or 3 soakways for the channel to drain through, rather than bother with permissions/connections etc to the drain network etc.

But how close or far away should these soakways be away from the house and how large.

thanks

Read the PavingExpert about the Soakway, Its a no go. At least 5mtrs is needed from the House. That would put the soakway 0.5 mtr higher than drain channel.

soakawys should be 5m away from a building. in your case the relatively small soakaways would provide a problem. Its hard to guess on size etc without knowing what area your talking about or how bad the water is?

If your on clay soil then it may not work anyway.
