Soaker hose lengths

I have recently fitted an irrigation system (4mm) for a number of fence mounted baskets. I have fitted two spray nozzles for each basket but these do not seem to be very effective at soaking the whole basket. I think a lot of this is due to having to throttle some of the earlier nozzle flows to get a reasonable flow at the end of the system. I was considering trying a length of soaker hose (300mm - 400mm) in each basket in place of the nozzles. Would this work? I appreciate that watering time would be increased but this is not a problem if I get an even water distribution in each basket.
