Socket Height

The information was taken from the IEE Publication Electricians Guide To the Building Regs Part p page 57.
And that advises that the minimum height above the worksurface should be 150mm, or 300mm if either side of a sink?

Does it make any recommendations for horizontal distances from sinks?

Ban I Think I've confused you (my fault)

Quote from the book

Accessories (Sockets, switches) should be installed a minimum of 300mm from the edge of a sink/draining board so as to minimise the risk of splashing. (horizontal distance)

To prevent damage to the plug top and flexible cable on insertion and removal, the centre of a socket outlet must be a minimum of 150mm (height) above the work surface.

so all sockets above any work surface (regardless if they are near a sink)
must be 150mm minimum
Hope that clears it up! ;)
