Soft cushion filling

My elderly relative is finding the foam filling on his lounge chair a little hard to sit on for any length of time. The cushions are the zip-off type. Could the foam be replaced with something a little softer.
Any advice please.

Thanks but I was thinking of something softer, maybe pillow filling or the like?

Any soft filling will provide zero support and feel very hard to sit on.
