Softus.....

The bit Softus wrote about re-examining one's own mortality hit a nerve with me.

As some may remember, I had a short synacthen test in August 2006.

I suffered severe anaphylactic shock: my BP plummeted to something like 40/25 and without treatment, I was told I would have been dead in 90 seconds.

As it was, I was away with the fairies, but I knew something was very seriously wrong and honestly thought I was going to die.

You know the really strange thing? There was no panic - I was very calm about it. I "saw" my kids, but was not worried or panicky about my death & the fact that I would never see them again.

Needless to say, I'm very glad to be back in the land of the living.

I do feel sad that my poor Ma had to witness it, though.
