Hi,

I'm currently installing a new ensuite bathroom, and want to connect to the existing soil pipe, at the same level as an existing connection on the other side.

Ideally, this will involve a double branch, like this one.

I understand that, in order to avoid cross flow (and potential blockage), you should avoid discharging into a soil pipe within 200mm of any other discharge point (on the opposite side). But I presume that this doesn't apply to this kind of fitting, otherwise why would they be selling it??

Has anybody else had this issue?

The rules are specific to unswept connections, so bosses for sinks etc. junctions for toilets/110 connections are swept, so the fitting is legit.

That fitting is ok it has swept entries.
Plus the centre line falls on the boundary of the crossover not within the 200mm zone.
