I'm planning a new toilet under the stairs. The most logical run for the soil pipe with the shortest/ best fall/ least bends is under the floor joists (ground floor) and through the exterior wall to join the existing cast iron soil stack. This would mean replacing the lower section of the iron stack pipe and the 90deg bend with a 'T' connection.
Q) is this a good idea as a T pipe doesn't shoot waste around the bend like a smooth curve?
Q) Does anyone have any special tips on connecting plastic to Salt Glazed Victorian pipe?
Q) Any tips on the best way to cut the cast iron down pipe without the angle grinder shattering it?
Thanks in advanced

No , you can`t lay a tee on it`s side - there was a thread about this done on a new build  and the solids shot down the vertical pipe from upstairs and splatted/ built up where they hit the horizontal pipe  It aint rocket science ;)

1. fit a swept bend -just cut the CI pipe lower
2 use a multiquik connector or similar
3 as long as you cut all the way through and dont try to break the CI it should be ok - failing that dig back to a joint
