Soil Pipe Run

Me again...

I need to run a soil and waste pipe from my downstairs loo, out to the soil stack on the side of the house. There is an internal run of about 2 meters. I have just read on Marleys website that the gradient should be a 9mm/metre fall.

I've got a plumber lined up to do the job, but i'm doing the donkey work as usual. What I need to know, is if it is possible to connect the waste from the basin to the soil internally so I can just make the hole big enough for the soil pipe. That being 110mm.

It needs to be installed horizontally. Would something like this do the job?

Are there any rules governing how far away from the sink the waste connection to the soil pipe should be? To avoid nasty smells etc...

As kevplumb said - use a stapboss its two less joins in your 110mm pipe and fewer supports needed - fit the strap boss so that it enters the top of your run - you don't want your 40mm pipe full of cr*p
