Solid Oak Glued down floor problems

Five years after having a solid oak floor fitted throughout the ground floor of our house (and four years after the company that supplied and fitted it ceased trading!) a problem has developed.

In the main living room the wood has badly bulged and lifted (i.e by several cm) right in the centre of the room making the floor impossible to live with. It has also happened to a lesser extent in one of the corners of the room.
Floor details are : solid French oak 90mm wide x 15mm thickness, random lengths up to 1.8m long T&G. This is directly glued to a concrete base.

Looking at previous answers on this forum, I suspect expansion though why this would start happening so long after fitting I cannot imagine. I can see that no expansion gap has been left against the fireplace hearth and intend to remove the skirting boards from the opposite wall to check there.

What next though? Is it possible to take up the floor and re-glue if that is the problem. I don't want to replace partly because of cost and partly because it matches all of the other rooms.

Any advice or plan of action appreciated !!!!

First action: check for moist, leaks, accidents with water (pets?) - or closing up ventilation gaps anywhere?

If the problem occurs only now - after five years - the humidity circumstances have changed just recently.

We have had no leak or flood on the floor (unless the dog was responsible and cleaned it up himself - clever Labrador!). The affected area of floor has always seemed a bit hollow and in fact we got the fitter to take a look at it shortly after it was fitted. He of course said there was no problem but it has always creaked when walked on. This summer however the floor has completely lifted over an area I guess of 4 feet long by 3 planks wide.

Assuming there is no leak or water damage from above what next?

Thanks again

Any new heavy furniture recently brought in which is resting on the floor and preventing some boards to expend normally? Or something that causes more humidity in the home?

We have had major high's this year with humidity. Combine this with the hollow spot in the floor and i would say that the glue that was holding the flooring in place has let go. Lack of bond to the glue and extra expansion.
