T&G oak flooring

Can I lay solid oak flooring which only has T&G on the long edges on a good underlayment such as Timbermate. Gluing only 2 edges suggests that the floor will flex and eventually break the glued bonds - is that right?

Not really, it will only mean gaps can appear more easily at the top joins and any height difference between the boards will be noticeable.
