Hello all.

I recently bought a house and decided that before the winter sets in that I would flush the heating system and refill with new inhibitor etc. I have done this several times before on other houses without any problems.

It is a combi system with a hot water tank in the airing cupboard. I flushed the radiators and filled them up with water and fernox inhibitor. I have gone round and bled all the radiators. I have 2 radiators (both downstairs) that cannot be bled any further (I open bleed screw and even removed it) no air comes out. They heat up at the bottom (about half way up the rad) but because there doesn't seem to be enough pressure, I can't get the rest of the air out.

Also, the radiator directly above one of the rads that is only half full is not heating AT ALL, but it is bled with water coming out the bleed valve. The rest of the system is getting roasting hot.

I have inspected the boiler and noticed that there is corrosion and has had/still has a leak around the pump (the 2 unions at either end) and would say they need replacing asap. There are leaks around the screws on the unions (what are these, bleed screws??) I also checked the pump setting and it's already set to 3.

Would the problem be with the pump? Or the leak? The pressure gauge is around 1 bar and seems to stay around that mark. If/when I replace the unions/the pump, do I have to drain down the whole system again? And where would be the best place online to order the parts ? (no plumbing places near by)

Many thanks and sorry for the long post!!!!
