Hi all, new to this forum.

I am currently going through the building control process for my garage conversion and have been asked to give a specification on the new lintel I am inserting above the front window.

The new wall to the front will be a timber kit construction (102.5mm brick, 50mm cavity, 140mm stud). My new window will be 1770mm wide, and I was wondering what the best type of lintel would be for the job?

Use a 'timber frame' lintel.

I'm confused as to why they are querying it, as the business end is the inner leaf.
