Split level hearth?

I'm about to have a very small woodburner installed in a very large fireplace.

We'd like to raise the height of the hearth inside the fireplace, to put the woodburner on, and leave the existing lower level slate hearth in place in front of it.

This would mean that the hearth would step down in front of the woodburner - the step would probably be only a few inches in front of the woodburner.

Would this be a problem?
