Squeaky steering??

Last couple of days, on some occasions, when I turn my steering wheel i'm hearing a squeaking noise. What would that be?

where does it squeak from?

not totally sure for pinpointing the noise, but not the steering wheel itself.

Try greasing the point where the steering-rack joins the pinion. That's, er, if it is rack and pinion steering, of course. What's the motor?

Is it fitted with power assisted steering, and is the accessory drive belt on the engine slipping when the steering pump is working?

Often the top or bottom bush on the colum which invariably means the removal of the cowl or trim. Bush is made of plastic so a quick squirt of WD40 usually resolves problem.
