Hello there - I have a potterton Flamingo II RS20-30 which is making a whinning noise when it is running. This stops, I assume when the set temperature is achieved and starts up again when the jets fire up.
Has any body any ideas, im a complete novice.

Since it seems to be combustion related then I suggest that you will need a competent CORGI registered person.

It would be normal to visually inspect the burners and measure the burner gas pressure.

Presumably you dont mean a kettling noise like a kettle boiling?

Ive had a corgi reg chap out this afternoon. He says the pump is ok and that the particular model does not have a fan, burners and flu ok. apart from that he is stumped. any ideas.
I have had the noise re-assesed by the wife and can confirm it does sound like a kettle

In that case its kettling and the engineer should have been able to recognise it.

You could try putting Sentinel X200 into the system and see if it improves it.

Tony

Why did you need a wife to reassess it? Is she the only one who uses a kettle?
