stained bathroom ceiling

I clad the bathroom ceiling with match board, gave it a couple of coats of white bathroom paint and all looked great.
One month on all the nots in the wood have made nasty brown stains in the paint, so a tin of stain covering paint was used and more bathroom paint but a few weeks later the stains are back again.
What will stop the stains?

aluminium wood primer will do it and can easily be overpainted. it is quite dark so you should to put white undercoat over it before the topcoat.

You ought really to have used it before painting them. Or you could have used knotting. But aluminium primer seals knots and stains in because the fragments of metal overlap each other into a layer.

O....Zinnser Bin Primer..

Its white shellac based primer so you wont have to give it too many coats to get it back to the original finish.
