I'm about to have some electrical work done which will involve me having a trench dug for electricity to the other end of the garden. I might take the opportunity to have water put down there as well (for gardening purposes).

I have an outside tap on the house which comes from pipework in the kitchen.
It's 60m from there to where I'd like a standpipe, level ground or even ever so slightly downhill.

What size MDPE would be best?
Should I insulate it (what with)?
Is it worth putting it inside conduit?
Should I take a feed from the kitchen and drill more holes in the wall, or can the tap be removed and a T piece inserted in its place? I can't see me using both at once so pressure isn't an issue.

The trench is likely to be 500mm depth (I was going to hire a trencher, rather than a mini digger).
