Elderly couple have stains in bath where a non slip mat has been, have tried bleach to remove.

Have you any suggestions what could be used to take off these stains ?

Thanks

abrasive cleaners will damage the enamel.

What is the stain composed of?

rust?

dirt?

plastic or rubber or dyes from the mat?

limescale?

soap deposits?

Try Paint Brush Cleaner and nylon cleaning pads , but make sure the bathroom is well ventilated .

if the rust stains are on the surface then you should be able to remove them. If not, it is time for a new bath

My bath is "plastic" but a few years ago I bathed after cutting up a cast iron bath with an angel grinder. The next day there were loads of rust spots. I ignored them, and in time they disappeared.

Bleach will not remove rust. Baking soda and water may remove their spots of rust if they are on the surface.

Start with a bathroom spray cleaner. It will remove limescale and soap deposits.

What happens then?

Photos would help.

If dyes have migrated from a plastic mat into enamel, you will not get them off by cleaning.

Phosphoric acid will remove rust marks. It is dangerous.
