I have an airbag which I want to dispose of. Has anyone any sensible suggestions as I now want rid of it?

Personally I'd take it to a breakers yard......they won't go off without an electric charge (or fire) but I wouldn't be the one responsible for posting it after ebay or whatever.
Just my opinion....I'm sure loads are sent by courier anyway.
John :)

I knew you'd reply John. Took it local breakers as you suggested and no problems.

I seem to remember when air bags first came out, there was a sticker on the car that showed their expiry date......I often wondered what would happen when the MOT came round.
10 years of service life springs to mind.

Mate of mine had a new Audi some years back. He changed it for a new one after some years (may well have been 10). Part of the reason he said was that the airbags needed replacing on the old one according to the dealer where he'd always had it serviced. £600 or something IIRC.

I think it was seatbelt pretensioners as well now you mention it.
