The badge lettering obviously caught something (carwash?) and is now a potential flesh-stripping hazard.

The pics show the stress lines in the top of the final letter making rework a bit problematic.

Any suggestions as to the best way forward? Hot air gun and removal? Another bit of double-sided tape and hope? Break the thing off, so she's driving a STONIL?

Its her car, and she doesn't want to pay what she's been quoted. I guess I don't want to use superglue. It'll go everywhere and be too permanent.

Go for a new badge, CB - they are self adhesive with tape.
I reckon that one won't go back to it's original form, and keep any adhesives well away!
John :)

Get it off as per above, then bend it back into shape and reattach it.

Once the badge is off, your biggest problem is sticking it on again......neatly!
Maybe you could sculpt some number plate sticky pads if you are good with a scalpel.
John :)

Remove as @Mottie said (I would use a hairdryer rather than a heat gun) and then polish.
Leave the car de-badged.
Audi charges extra if you want a new car without badges (???)

Any car paint factors will sell the correct double sided tape on a roll for decals and badges. Some other double sided tape intended for number plates can be a bit too thick.

Thanks for all the suggestions. The hairdryer low/med setting was more than adequate. It was a muggy day so a bit of a head start.

The dental floss would have worked but was a bit slow and needed a third hand. Ended up using an old AA plastic membership card (see pic) in a prying rather than slicing action. A bit of WD40 to remove the glue residue and a bit of spray polish....

Not sure the old badge is likely to be reusable after reshaping. The very thin letter joins make that a bit touchy, so I favour the leave it as is suggestions.
