stinky bathroom

Hi - i know there are a few similar posts, but not sure if this is different. bathroom smells of sewage. seems to coming from shower (wet room type)

a mate mentioned there is a filter missing from the shower trap, but i have no idea

any suggestions more than welcome! cheers

The shower should have a shallow trap under it. This will allow enough water to be left in the trap to stop smells coming up it. If the water is being sucked out by another piece of sanitary ware like a sink emptying then that will cause the smell. you need to check for how the waste water runs away on the shower and anything connected to the same waste pipe.
 
Looks like there may be a central tube missing from the drain. Some shower traps have a removable 'dip' tube to allow cleaning, when in situ it should terminate under the water in the trap, thus forming the seal. If it has been removed and not replaced then this will allow a direct path for foul air to enter the room!
