I am wanting to fit a new taps in the kitchen but the problem is when I turned the stop valve off, the water pressure dropped slightly and when I then turned it back to full pressure the stop cock is leaking water from it. How can I solve this problem. Do I need a new stop cock?

Stop cock not switching off supply

Undo the gland nut and see if it will turn off.
