Stop hot water from hot water tank

You can ,but it shouldn't make any difference.
I'll give it another go in the morning and will report back. Thanks. 2 mins sounds like quite a long time for taps to stop?
In the past, they always stopped nearly immediately.

Those black plastic levers often spin on the shaft rather than actually turn it, try removing the lever and use a spanner on the shaft,

My megaflo flowed hot water for a fair while after I turn of the cold inlet isolation valve presumably because the water is pressurised. I've recently fitted a full bore isolator on the hot water outlet and it stops within seconds.

I did what I did last night, turned off the mains and also the black cold water valve to the hot water cylinder. We carried on as normal in the house then eventually (throughout the morning), the water stopped. Looks like there's A LOT of water in the pipes. I kind of gave up and forgot the black valve was off, eventually it all worked out
Thanks for the help
