Hi, the title pretty much sums it up! I've recently had mineral wool installed in the loft and I need to return some quite heavy boxes (there's a small floorboarded area). Can I roll the wool back, put the boxes back on the floorbarded area and then roll the wool back over the top of the boxes? I'll probably need to buy a bit of extra wool so that there's no gaps.

From what I've read spaceboard etc doesn't seem to be suitable for supporting a great deal of weight. I suppose stilts would by my next option if I can't store under the wool. I can't see what the problem would be, but then again I'm certainly no expert. I've not had much luck googling so any help would be, well, very helpful.

Erm, that’s one crazy idea!

you put the spaceboard on the timbers, and put the floorboards or ply on top of that.

Ha, judging by the responses I'm guessing my idea's a bit out there! Theoretically though, it'd work, right? I'm just thinking it'll be a bit of a pain to make sure it's entirely covered though now.

Would spaceboard be strong enough if i put some ply over the top of it then? So pull the wool back where the floorboarded area is, put the spaceboard down topped with ply (or chipboard?) and then put the boxes on top of that?

Thanks for the help guys, as you may be able to tell this isn't my forte!

If you read the instructions in the Spaceboard shelf or packet or brochure, it explains how to do it. I wouldn't bother flopping quilt over the top. Leave your floored area accessible to walk on.
