Hi all,
I have a strange noise in my cold water main. I have a standard system with gravity fed bathroom upstairs with the kitchen served from the mains.
It is a very quiet noise and you would never notice if the tv is on in the background, but enough to be annoying at night. The sound is like a distant rumbling if you like. Not a hissing noise more of a 'very distant thunder' sort of noise. The noise is continuous (pitch of the noise varies constantly) but it is not the same noise as when the cold water tank in the loft is filling (thought it could be the ball valve as the source of the noise but when I shut off the isolation valve to ball valve the noise is still there).
The noise stops when I shut of the stopcock in the kitchen. The kitchen is new and plumbing work has been done to suit new sink location etc. I'm hoping the noise is a dodgy valve or washer as I cannot find a leak it damp patches anywhere.
Please help!
