Stripping old beams.

A previous occupier covered the lounge beams of my 1840s cottage with horrible black veneer panels. Underneath the veneer the beams are coated with paint and varnish. I have no idea if the paint contains lead and am cleaning them slowly and cautiously with Nitromors Superstrip. That said I'm going to try some Kling Strip to see if it's quicker.
Nightmare job but it will be worth it! (I think). Maybe I should post a pic of myself with long red gloves, face mask and goggles. After an emergency hair wash when a blob of Nitromors dropped on my head, I'm thinking of adding a bath hat to complete the ensemble... :rolleyes:
