Stripping Skirting Boards

Anybody got any advice for stripping thick paint from a skiring board? The board is not flat, but has a groove in, similar to the below one:

I was thinking about sand-papering it, but it'd take me forever to do the skirting board and door frames

Take the skirting off and replace it with new stuff..its quicker, cheaper and a lot less hassle
