strongboys and short acros

Does anyone know if Strongboys fit into trench props only I have a low opening that I need to prop up while I replace some bricks.

How else do you support walls when working at low levels?

Is there a cheaper alternative to strongboys apart from hiring that anyone knows of?

We often use a piece of scaffold tube as a 'needle' and prop either end of this.
