As many will know, I have mostly insulated my solid wall 1930s home with internal insulation. But with the heating on less, black mould has appeared in the front hall where I didn't put any, as too tricky to make look good with my DIY skills. The external side is a storm porch, so no concerned about water getting to the insulation, so I am thinking of (maybe) bodging something as a temporary measure - I am in the process of trying to get my plasterer / renderer to fix a day to do external insulation on the front of the house, as I could not insulate the bay windows with rads).
Just to keep the wall warmer, should I just stick on some kingspan for now? Or should I batten it each side to allow a board to be screwed on later? Another idea ... I do have a tin of expanding foam gathering dust. I could just foam up that wall for this winter until the job gets done properly.
Or is there a better permanent solution, such as an insulation board that can be rendered later?
