Hi.
I am shortly putting in a new storage shed and need some advice about how best to construct a solid base for it.
I had planned to put it directly onto some decking (with a slab/treated joist/decking construction), but I've got four 6'6" reclaimed railway sleepers (creosoted) that I need to dispose of, and I thought they might make a suitable base instead.
Can anyone foresee a problem?
How long will the creosote prevent rot?
What should I put underneath the sleepers? Should I bed them down in sand, or even sit them on slabs?
Should I bin the idea and build a different base?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Cheers.
