i am currently preping for a wood burner to be fitted to my fireplace , i was thinking of having slate for the hearth base , the slate tiles i have seen are about 8-10mm thick , will these be ok as the wood burner is 9kw max, & is it best to lay them with fire resistant tile adhesive , cheers |darren

Hello mate, I'd be interested in hearing how you got on with this as I have the same question as am about to do the same thing!

Thanks, Devs

Most tile addy will take heat up to 150 deg...

Just check with the mfr off the adhesive you have...make sure you have the correct distance from burner to wall...again follow mfr guidance re the burner installation...

Tiles will be ok just make sure you seal them ect..
