I’ve decided to build a summerhouse, 3000 x 3000 with corner cut off, diagonal and two short sides will be the same length. Please recommend any other suggestions or better ways of doing it.
Floor
50 x 75 ? joists resting on 3 * 100 x 100 skids on paving slabs, 18mm ply floor.
Should joist have frame all the way round the edge or should the long sides be open.
Polystyrene insulation under ply , held up using battens into joists. Bad idea? Should I use any plastic sheeting? Spacing 600mm ?
Walls
50 x 75 frame vertical cladding using 150 x22 gravel boards, gaps covered with 50 x 25 battens, Tyvek sheeting. Polystyrene insulation, Do I need gap for ventilation? T&G cladding inside, do I need plastic sheeting? Air holes? Centres 600?
Roof
Shingles, 12mm ply, If I use insulation do I need gap? Air holes? What size timbers?
