My old Ma used to talk of Maypole and Liptons.

Another old one was Victor Value, bought out by Tesco (T.E.Stockwell and COhen (boss) put together) and resurrected in the 80's.
I used to like FineFare (2 "F"s in their logo, one upside down) and went on to work for a company they bought out, Shopper's Paradise.

In fact, before it's demise, FineFare was third behind Tesco and Sainsbury's.

Are there any others you remember (and maybe even miss)?

Forgotten about Liptons! We used to do our family shop at Safeway, which I think got sold to Morrisons? But all supermarkets are a chore really, much the muchness these days.

Thrift, Grandways, Kwiksave and finally Netto. The local Netto ( part of sainsburys) opened up not long back new store some really good quality cheap stuff ....their bread was superb far better than what's offered at Sainsburys and they had this wine £2.99 absolutely superb. All Netto's now closed I only discovered them recently too, popped in there instead of sainsburys as they were neatly next to each other and it was quieter, instantly converted.

Floyd's..........................not really a supermarket but it seem like it when I was a kid.

International, Kwiksave, Bejam, Somerfield and Gateway in Bristol/S.W. when I was younger.

Slow night on here tonight. ;)
