The following are photos of the current support arrangements for a chimney that I only recently discovered while clearing out loft insulation ready to do some rewiring.

I'm worried about it but it's pointed out that the chimney breasts would have been removed 30 years ago and it's lasted that long so I though I'd try online for more knowledgeable opinions.

Is this adequate or should I be getting something done and if so whats the best solution?

Thanks in advance

D.

is this c/breast tieing into another c/breast and then going up thro the roof into a chimney stack? is this a gable wall or a shared, party wall stack?

the support is inadequate and slowly failing/bending. there's info on this site about how to remove and support c/breast's.

come back here if you want further help.
