i am looking to see if anyone knows of a way into this box the previous house owners used one and didn't leave a code, I know it was used for home help and i am missing a door key for one of my external doors i am hoping its in the box, I have had a look on the web and people have said there a so many combinations, If anyone knows how to get a reset code to open this it would be much appreciated worse case will take the grinder to it

Many thanks

Cutting open is probably the only way.
However if you have just moved in, surely you will be replacing the lock cylinders anyway?

if its an old person it will probably be
day/month
month/year
year ... of birth

Or try 1945 if they lived through the war.

The next door neighbour may also know the code.

Why didn't you ask the previous owner? If the occupant died, it was probably sold by their son or daughter, who ought to know.

Thanks for the replies, replacement locks are there to be fitted just have to get this one out first, the lock is on one side of a set of double doors have access threw the other one, the previous owners family don't no the code apparently which is unusual, will have a look at the video, have tried most of the 1900 numbers, thanks again boab :-)

Hmm, I posted a reply to this thread with some good answers in, and another youtube link - seems to have been deleted.

Yet the one above that shows how to break into one of these has not?

Why?

As for the OP - do not take a grinder to this, it should be easy to open if you youtube it, there are videos showing how to open it and you can then change the combination & keep your £60+ keysafe.

Was wondering why it went myself the you tube link mearly stated the possible combinations involved nothing illegal or dishonest in that, the grinder will be a last solution will persevere With it just now thanks for both your original and this post.
