Ok been digging a short trench today 400mm deep to bury my 2.5mm SWA in. It has to terminate at a junction box about 600mm up the rear wall of the house.

I have the correct cleats to fix it to the wall but should it have any other protection such as conduit for example?

The wall is south facing so it will be exposed to hot sun over the years (hopefully lol)

Not normally, the black colour usually fades over time but not harmfull,, sometimes just for aesphetics, it can look neater, as swa clips are not that pretty. i have seen, the small flexi ducting and even water waste pipe, slipped over the swa and gland and butted up to the junction box, for 600mm you may not even need to clip it
