Recently installed Warmflow Agentis Combi oil boiler been switched off for over a week but noticed a sweet smell in the utility last few days. It's been hot weather so wondering if that would have caused it? But prior to switching off have had issues with headaches and nausea but got checked before we switched it off as the Warmflow engineer said the flue wasn't within regulated distances to the door so need a plume kit fitted. I looked to see where sweet smell was coming from and noticed this gap on the flue casing which I could feel air blowing in. Would that cause any issues or normal enough?

Headache could be stress related or something else.
Make sure you have a carbon monoxide alarm near.
New boilers do smell with that factory new smell. Really need to run for a few weeks so it heats up and burns off any protective oil on the new internal parts.
Heating oil is not very pleasant stuff is it.
Keep an eye out for leaks
