I bought the 3meter Swish Supreme Corded curtain track (corded, aluminium) which says it's suitable for both ceiling and wall fixing using the same brackets.

Ceiling fix is obvious, the flush part of the plastic bracket touches the ceiling and gives a solid attachment.

But when I look at the wall fixing option, it felt wrong - there was a noticeable gap between the screw head and the wall, which makes me feel that if i over tighten the screw, the plastic might crack.

It made me wonder if I needed some kind of wall conversion kit, even though the instructions say wall fixing is fine.

The pdf manual (section 3) is here which kinda shows I need not worry, so maybe I am over thinking? I just want to check before I balls it up (or not)

..and images here of ceiling and wall options:
Thanks in advance

Your missing a bit that screws to wall then you hook the rest on.

Watch here. 1min in

Although they mention this is not used now on some?

Ahh yes, great that was what i was thinking would be needed, thanks for the video... but then watching the video it goes on to say that the mounting plate is now not needed. So I guess its just a legacy design that functions without a foot bracket

Wall fixings in bays, I often used off cuts of 15mm or 22mm to project the fitting away from the wall. It was often the case that the rail didn't want to follow the profile exactly (the angle was too tight). I used the off cuts to push the rail out (away from the wall). It worked well.

Wall fixing is fine though screws shown are too short for that.
Yeah good point. they do look a bit short don't they. What length should we get ?
We are 10 year old new-build with extremely thick double wall insulation/plasterboard. not even sure how far in the actual brick is. Will have to do a test.

In addition can I ask, what suggestion do people have for a prefernce of rawl plug. I was thinking of using Fischer duo power
something like this
Curtain are not heavy duty
