i plan to install a shower pump for my new shower in bathroom. i plan to put the switched fcu for the shower pump next to the light switch which is outside the bathroom. can i take a feed for the fcu from the supply side of the light switch? or would it be better to feed off from the lighting circuit in the loft.
i do realise that it also depends on what type of connection are behing my light switch in order for me to do this.
but was wondering whether what i suggest would be bad practice?

it also depends on how much cureent your pump draws, i suggest yopu put it on the main ring

thanks breezer.
the pump is 500w so its pulling 2amps, so i guess it might be touch and go with a few lights on and a 6 amp mcb

The light switch is only a switched live and therefore has no neutral so you have to take it off the lighting or ring main.
