Hi could anybody help?

I have replaced my knackered switchmaster 3 way valve for a honeywell, I have wired it as per previous posts with the orange linked to the red etc but when I switch the system back on the centeral heating is on regardless of the setting does anybody have any ideas?

Paul

White wire goes to live out of room stat
grey goes to hot water off wire from clock and satisfied wire from cylinder stat
orange goes to hot water calling wire from cylinder stat and boiler(pump) lives

The whites on both valves are not the same this could be your fault

thankyou for you quick reply, im afraid im very ignorant when it comes to all this what I have discovered so far is that I get a level of control when i remove the white cable from the switchmaster from the grey honeywell, this enables me to have the heating on only when selected im not etirely sure why this is?!
