Tanking and battens

I am at the point of tiling the walls of my shower/bath enclosure. I realise I will need to batten the second off bottom row of tiles above my bath. However I have tanked this and wonder how to fit the batten without compromising the tanking.

The difference a few tiny holes will make behind your tiles will be bo.llock all. If you're bothered, dab a bit of silicone or tanking solution in the holes when you remove the battens.... but there's really no point.
