tap head stuck help pls!!

basic problem, unscrewed little screw in tap head; Can't actually get tap head off, to get access to the valve; tried levering it, few light blows with mallet .. any ideas, tips, tricks, special tools.

try with a small hammer and a nail punch hitting the shaft......gently. also wd40 and leave it to work for a few hours

If the shroud below the tap head is already loosened, put something solid (grips are sometimes about the right width) between tap head and shroud, then unscrew shroud. It'll try to move up and with luck push the tap head off the top of the stem. Otherwise, if the tap is of the type where the stem moves down as the tap is turned off, try the same trick with the tap on, then turn it off with the wedge in place between head and shroud.

If neither of these tricks work - you've got a problem! Gentle heating of the head (so long as it's metal!) often helps.
